Repetitious liturgies, Rituals, mindless ceremonies, and canned sermons can be hazardous to your spiritual well being. We are called to communicate the Good News to this generation. Modern technological methods of communication are proving to be more effective but many are still using two hundred year old theological material to reach the 21st Century. Many still long for the “good ole days” when times were bad. The word “contemporary” is deemed as evil to many traditional church denominations. Jesus called the religious leaders of his day “hypocrites.” (Matthew 15:6-9 NKJV) “You have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. Then he went on to quote the prophet Isaiah; “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor me with their lips, But their heart is far from me, And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men’.” Contemporary praise and worship reaches this generation! John Bevere has said “The apostles used every available means of their time to instruct the disciples and proclaim the gospel. If today's technology had been available I believe they would have used it.”
